I have been using the add-on CT Map Mod for years and had TONS of data saved to my in-games maps (mining nodes, cave entrances, flight masters, etc...) and all of a sudden when I was playing on Sunday all my data went POOF! I was in the game for hours, it was working just fine when I started then all of a sudden all my map data was gone and all my maps plain old empty maps. I did not download anything, I did not delete anything, I didn't go to any unusual websites, all I was doing was playing wow. I have since then restarted my computer, cleared my temporary internet files, and even looked on the website for CT Map Mod and cannot figure it out.
So, does anyone else use CT Map Mod and have you had problems?
I seriously dont want to play the game anymore if I cant get my map data back.....we are talking five years worth of notes and marks.
Thanks,
~Maryalice~

The following file contains the map notes for CT_MapMod:
"World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<account_name>\SavedVariables\CT_MapMod.lua"
Before making any changes to the files in this "SavedVariables" folder, you should logout and exit from the game.
If you browse to the "SavedVariables" folder for your account, you should be able to see a "CT_MapMod.lua" file. If the size of the file is small, then the notes are probably no longer in it. You can open the file (it is plain text) using something like Notepad if you'd like to examine the contents to make sure.
Sometimes the game will make a backup copy of an addon's saved data. If you look in the same "SavedVariables" folder, you may find a "CT_MapMod.lua.bak" file that contains an older copy of your notes. If you find such a file, you can first rename "CT_MapMod.lua" to something else, then rename "CT_MapMod.lua.bak" to be "CT_MapMod.lua", and then restart the game.
If there is no "CT_MapMod.lua.bak" file, and the notes aren't in the "CT_MapMod.lua" file, then there is no way to recover them unless you've been backing up your computer's files, in which case you may be able to restore the "CT_MapMod.lua" file from a recent backup.

Thank you for the answers. Unfortunately in my case both the .lua and .bak files are empty of data :( I will see if the files are still on my old computer so that I can at least recover some of the data. I just wonder what happened to wipe the files like that, and I suspect its something that the Bizzard programers did to clear the data, thats why I wonder if anyone else still uses this program and experienced the same thing.
Thank you,
