I've selected to be shown when any class in any group gets debuffed by magic/disease but the color is not changing on their bars when it happens. I get notified by text but not by color. v3.2 is the first CTRA i've used since March '09 and the settings look exactly the same, so I'm not sure what I'm missing here. Am I missing another mod to make it work?

No, you don't need any other mods. I just checked it now in a raid, and it is changing the color of the raid frames properly for me when someone gets debuffed.
In the upper right corner of the buff options window in CTRA is a list of debuff types (curse, magic, poison, etc). Make sure you have selected the types of debuffs you want it to show you. It will not change the color of a raid frame unless the appropriate debuff checkbox is selected. Also, to the right of each debuff type is a square box that you can click on to change the color. Just make sure they're not all the same color :)

Tried it today in WSG and only my frame (priest in group 1) and one other player's frame (priest in group 2) worked. I have every group and every class selected so not sure why only us 2 changed colors. Yes, I have magic and disease checked with different colors and placed them at the top of the list of debuffs. As far as I know, I have everything set up like I had it when raiding back in March. Do any of Blizzard interface settings affect my issue...like are their any specific unit frame settings or w/e through their UI that I need to have set a certain way? I dunno Dargen...I need help! CTRA is the RA I've been using for years and now I can't figure out why the debuff thingy is giving me a problem, but I want to figure it out being a raiding priest and all. Any more info you can give me would be appreciated!

The only settings that affect the frame coloring are in the upper right corner of that buff/debuff options window. As long as the debuff type is checked, the addon will change the color of the frame to what you've selected... unless there is a bug in the addon.
I ran some more tests last night and managed to come up with a way to duplicate what you were experiencing. I've implemented a fix for the bug but I want to test it some more before it gets released.
The "You aren't in a party" message that you are seeing while in a battleground is caused by one or more addons trying to communicate using the "RAID" addon channel (this wasn't a problem until a recent patch).
The next update of CT_RaidAssist will no longer use the "RAID" addon channel while you are in a battleground. This will prevent CT_RaidAssist from causing that message to appear. However, if you have any other addons that are still using the "RAID" addon channel while in a battleground, then you may continue to see that message.Last updated by dargen

I used it in a non-battleground today (Onyxia 10 man) and it seemed to work fine. It changed color for both the tanks who were being debuffed by magic on the trash mobs. Thx for your quick responses and helpful input. Happy to know that my favorite RA is still around and I'll continue to use it as well as a couple other CT mods. Thx again Dargen!

Here's a bit more information related to your issue.
The problem with the color of the frames not changing when debuffed while in a battleground was caused by the way the addon was handling player names in a battleground. In a battleground the game usually displays the names of players from other server in a "player-server" format, while players from your own server don't have the "-server" part.
The addon was not being consistent when dealing with player names from another server. In some places it used the "player-server" format, and in others it used the "player" format even for players from another server. This often resulted in it failing to find the information it was looking for, such as the debuffs that had been applied to the player assigned to a raid frame (resulting in no color change).
It was working much better in a raid (which is also where I did my initial test), because everyone was from your own server, so the addon didn't have to deal with the "-server" part of the names and everything matched up nicely.
The next update will change the way the addon handles player names from other servers while in a battleground. I just ran a few battlegrounds with the updated addon, and I was seeing the frames change color properly as people were debuffed.
While investigating your (battleground related) frame debuff color issue, I discovered another bug when I managed to get the same debuff color issue to occur in a normal raid. This other bug might cause some raid frames to not update correctly when players get moved around from group to group, or you change the sorting method (which also causes players to switch "groups"). The fix for this other bug, which I'm still testing at the moment, will also make it into the next update.Last updated by dargen
