Hi, I've downloaded and unzipped the files as per the instructions, and saved the folders in the ...interface/addons/ folder. However, WoW does not see the addons.

Can you help?

Thanks

If you click the "Addons" button at the character selection screen and you can't see the addons listed, then they are not installed correctly. The most common problem is that the addon's files are not located in the proper folder.

To check if you have an addon installed in the correct folder:
1) Open your "World of Warcraft" folder.
2) Open the "Interface" folder.
3) Open the "Addons" folder.
4) You should now see a folder that has the same name as the addon you installed. Open that folder.
5) In that folder you should see the files for that addon, including one that starts with the name of the addon and ends with .toc

For example, these are the folders you would need to open in order to see the CT_Core files:

World of Warcraft
Interface
Addons
CT_Core

Once you've opened that last folder you should see the following files, and one folder called "Images":

changes.txt
CT_Core.toc
CT_Core.lua
CT_Core_Chat.lua
CT_Core_Other.lua
CT_Library.lua
localization.lua
Bindings.xml

If you see a "CT_Core" folder inside your "CT_Core" folder, then you've got it wrong. There should only be one folder named "CT_Core" and it should only be located in the "Addons" folder.

If you are using Windows and the built-in unzipper that comes with Windows, you can use the following steps to install a CTMod addon:

1) Download and save the addon's .zip file.
2) Right click on the .zip file you downloaded and select "Extract all..."
3) Click the "Next" button
4) Click the "Browse" button.
5) Navigate through the folders until you have selected the game's "Addons" folder. Don't open the folder, just select it by left clicking on it so that it is highlighted. The "Addons" folder is located inside the "Interface" folder that is inside your "World of Warcraft" folder.
6) Once you have the "Addons" folder selected, click the "Ok" button.
7) Click the "Next" button to begin extracting files.
8) Once the extraction finishes you can click the "Finish" button.

I believe there is also a sticky post at the start of the World of Warcraft "UI & Macros" forum that describes how to install addons and check if you've done it correctly.

Thanks. Turns out I had 2 WoW directories - one with the game in it, one without - must be old...

Thanks
