First thanks for the updates to CTMod with all the chat changes that went into effect with the last patch. I have a question about the sticky chats option. According to the tooltip in CTCore, when the chat tab is active the type chat used is supposed to be appear in that chat frame (paraphrased). Am I interpreting this correctly? I'm not clear on how the sticky option works with CTCore. I split off my guild, whispers, and party chat into separate windows from general and only have the selected type chat for that window selected in the settings in the Blizzard UI. If I was chatting in Party and then click say the guild tab to make it active to reply to a guildie, when I hit ENTER or / and the reply box appears, will the guild chat be stickied in that tab or will the last chat type I used still be active?

I have all the chats checked to be stickied in CTCore so not sure how it should work. Any explanation or help would be appreciated. I haven't had a chance to get in game for a few days to check if only the tab specific chat is stickied to the particular tab or if I still need to use the slash commands to change to the type chat I want.

Sticky chat types have always been in the game, although until the 3.3.5 patch only the Say, Party, Raid, Guild, and Battleground chat types were sticky. In the 3.3.5 patch Blizzard added some other sticky chat types like Whisper and Channel.

The CT_Core sticky chat options just let you change the sticky property of those chat types. If you have all the sticky chat options enabled in CT_Core, then that is the same as the game's default settings for them.

Sticky chat types affect what the default chat type will be when you press the Enter key to open a chat input box. Sticky chat is different than using separate tabs for things like guild chat, whispers, party chat, etc.

If you open a chat input box by pressing the Enter key, the game will display the default chat type for that input box. For example, when you first log into the game, all chat input boxes will default to "Say:" if you just press Enter.

If you use a slash command associated with a sticky chat type, the default chat type for that input box will change to be the chat type associated with your command. If you use a slash command that is not associated with a sticky chat type, then the default chat type for that input box will not change.

For example, if the sticky "whispers" option is enabled and you type a /w command, the default chat type for that chat input box will be changed to "whisper". The next time you press Enter to open that same chat input box, it will default to a whisper.

If you are using the game's "IM Style" chat style option (Interface options, Social category) then each chat tab will have its own unique input box, and each input box will have its own default chat type. If you are using the game's "Classic Style" chat style option, then each chat tab will share the same input box and there will be only one default chat type.

Thank you for the clarification. I think I understand it now. So if I have the IM Style selected in the interface options, I will be able to "set" the type chat that will be stickied in each tab? Is that correct? I click Guild, do a /g in the chat box, type something, then change the active box to Party and type /p, the party will will stuck in the party chat tab input box and the /g will still be stuck in the guild chat box so any time after that when I switch between the chat tabs the appropriate chat type will still be there and I will not need to use the / command for that box. I realize this would only be for that particular gaming session and would need to be done each time I log in.

If this is correct it is exactly what I am wanting. It will help tremendously with my in game communication.
