Please see this issue ... I am having the same issue and can only remove the offending item by removing ALL my ct_mod folders. I'd really rather not do this and am making do until a fix comes out.
Just thought I'd bring it to your attention.
I've re-downloaded the latest patches from your site (twice) and still have not gotten it to remove except when removing all ctmod folders.

The tooltip shown in the image in that thread looks like it was created by another addon (some sort of quest helper addon?).
It is possible that the problem is a conflict between two or more addons that are loaded at the same time. It could be a couple of addons that are each trying to reposition tooltips on the screen.
CTMod's CT_Core addon has an option to reposition tooltips. Have you tried using that to move the tooltip?
Have you tried disabling the addon that created the tooltip (which is most likely the quest helper addon)?
Does the other addon have an option to disable repositioning of tooltips?
If there is a conflict between the addons, then disabling either one of the addons should prevent the issue. If you can find out which addon is creating the tooltip then I might be able to add something to CTMod so that it disables tooltip repositioning when the other addon is loaded.
Update:
I installed some of the addons that I could see in that screenshot: XPerl, Decursive, QuestHelper, TitanPanel. I created an undead mage, and got the same quest that I saw in the screenshot. However, I did not get a tooltip showing Vaelastrasz the Corrupted. I don't know where you're getting that tooltip from. What other addons are you using?Last updated by dargen

wow ... gotta give you props. you went all out.
unfortunately, that isn't my screen shot -- just same issue I was having and, since that person had mentioned ct_mod ... I made an assumption that it probably was my issue too .... BAD ME! BAD ME!
I am also using XPerl and QuestHelper (along with QuestGuru too) ... I have FUbar as well (not TitanPanel), cartographer .. any others I wouldn't expect to interfere with ct_mod. I will check into it myself with QuestHelper and QuestGuru and something like that. If I COULD just move it off the screen, it wouldn't be so bothersome :-)
